Henry Turner has been made captain of the hockey team and now has to maintain high standards both on the ice and in his studies. But a difficult course lies ahead, and with a lecturer Henry really cant stand. On top of that, his strict hockey coach is putting pressure on him because of his poor grades. But then Hallie appears, a third-year student who runs the book club. She is very familiar with the course Henry is struggling with, so she offers to help him with his essay. Daily rituals turn into a game, chance touches into a challenge, and casual jokes into a dangerous closeness. And the further they go in this unplanned attachment, the louder the question becomes: is this just a dream that flickered for a moment or a chance at a new, different life?
